More Biometrics

My family needs to have their USCIS Biometrics taken again. This will be the third time, for my adoption. This means they need to go to have their fingerprints taken with the USCIS (the Federal Govt.) All the adults that live in our house need to go. They're appt. is tomorrow; the appt. must be kept. Three years ago my parents started out with a form called the I600A. This form gets all the info. for the Fed. Govt, so that that our country knows that my parents can and will take care of me (there are other purposes for this form). My parents filed this form twice. We had hoped they could file this form again, for the third time, (the forms/biometrics keep expiring, b/c the process of getting me is taking so long.), but they have not been allowed to refile. So now my parents have filed the new I800A form which is Hague compliant. We are our case worker's first I800A. So everything is a little unfamiliar and we're not sure exactly of the process and time frame. We've needed to collect more documents, update our home study, which included FBI background checks, state fingerprinting, fees, forms and more documents, etc.... Then get all the information to the correct location and then wait for our appointments, hoping everything was properly completed. One part of the process is gathering police clearance from every state the parents have lived in since they were 18 yo. My parents have lived in the same state all their adult lives; but what a chore for those parents who moved around or lived oversees or served in the armed forces. It is a big job gathering the info.

That's the update for today.

Talk again.

Love,

Olivia
